Calm Breathing Exercise by Anne Crump

One way to calm yourself down when getting anxious or panicky is to slow down your breathing so that your 'out' breath is longer than your 'in' breath. This video is a way to help you practice this calming breathing technique at home. Daily practice when you feel okay helps develop confidence in being able to calm and slow your breathing when you need to. Please take care of your own body and if you feel uncomfortable at any time then stop. If you have any concerns about your breathing seek advice from your doctor. Please contact Anne Crump at The Somerville Foundation if you would like more information on breathing and relaxation techniques or any other emotional health concern.
