Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) week begins on 7th February, finishing with CHD day on Valentine’s Day, Friday 14th February 2014.

Why not help us to raise awareness of The Somerville Foundation and those born with a heart condition by holding an event and also raising much needed funds for the charity.
Fundraising can fun and enjoyable for everyone taking part, doesn’t have to be big or extravagant and any money raised will make a big difference to The Somerville Foundation.

You could:-

Have a coffee morning or cake sale. Why not bake some heart shaped biscuits too?

Have a dress down or fancy dress day

Hold a quiz. You don’t even have to write the questions, just email us for our quiz pack

Hold a raffle

‘Wear something red’ day

Have a ‘bad hair’ day

Have a sponsored ‘Give up something you love for a day’

Hold a ‘guess the baby’ picture competition.

Set up a car wash.

The list is endless.

Charge £1 - £10 per person depending on what you’re doing. Just remember, whatever you do, make it FUN!

If you would like information or collection pots to help you with your event, complete our online ‘Hold your own event’ form. You can also download our fundraising leaflet here.

By raising money you could help people like Kirsty

Kirsty was born with aortic stenosis and heard about The Somerville Foundation through her Transition nurse at her Specialist Centre.

“For years I felt alone, that no one in the world understood how my life was, but now I know more people born with the same condition as me than I thought possible. They have given me so much support at times when I’m down, I don’t know what I’d do without them.”

Kirsty also benefited from one of several grants we offer, the Beverley Downie Memorial Fund, which financially helps patients wishing to pursue further education and training. “I have always wanted to help others like me and decided to do a counselling course. The Somerville Foundation helped me with the course fees and now I am looking forward to the next part of my life, which is looking good.”

By raising money you can help patients like Kirsty to improve their lives. So start today!

Thank you for your support.
