ACHD Information Event at NNUH

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital

This year instead of a conference an Adult Congenital Heart Patient’s Information Event will be held in Norwich on Saturday 14th October 2017. The event will be held in conjunction with Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) and promises to be an exciting and informative morning. 

The event is free to attend, including refreshments. We will do our best to cater for whatever needs you may have. Please let us know if you have any special access needs by emailing If you are currently unwell please let us know how we can make arrangements to help you attend.

The Benjamin Gooch Lecture Theatre at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. 


Please bear in mind that train, coach and air fares may be significantly cheaper if booked in advance.

Train: The closest railway station is Norwich. Trains run from London Liverpool Street to Norwich every 30 minutes, the journey takes roughly 2 hours. Trains run from Cambridge station regularly, the journey takes between 1 hour and 30 minutes and 1 hour and 45 minutes.  NNUH is 20 minute taxi ride from Norwich Railway Station, a 35 minute bus ride from Norwich Railway Station.

NNUH is a 5 minute drive from the Thickthorn Interchange, off the A11.  

The closest airport is Norwich International Airport – 6 miles away. 


Please bear in mind, this year we do not have allocated accommodation however, There is a large range of overnight accommodation close to where the conference is taking place.

- Travelodge Norwich Cringleford Hotel, Thickthorn Service Area, A11 / A47 Interchange, Norwich Southern Bypass, Norwich NR9 3AU: 5 minute drive from NNUH, via the A47. 
- The Station Hotel, 5-7 Riverside Rd, Norwich, NR1 1SQ: 35 minute bus journey/ 20 minute drive to NNUH 
- Best Western Annesley House Hotel, 6 Newmarket Road, Norwich, Norfolk, NR2 2LA: 20 minute bus ride/ 10 minute drive to NNUH

Grants are available in advance to help those struggling financially to attend. If you are living on benefits, working but on a low income, or have serious financial problems you should be eligible for a grant. 
• Financial support grant - For those on low wages, benefits or facing financial hardship. Let us know your circumstances and we will do our best to help.
• Travel Support Grant - in addition to the above grant, we may be able to help new attendees to travel to the conference.
