Charity Walk for Peace 2017
Sunday 14 May 2017
1000 Docklands, E16 2QU
On Sunday 14th May 2017, Anna, Michelle, Helen, John and Anne from The Somerville Foundation are taking part in the 28th Charity Walk for Peace to raise vital funds for The Somerville Foundation.
Join #TeamTSF and take part in this FREE fundraising event, and help us to support those born with a heart condition.
The Charity Walk for Peace is a 5 mile walking event in East London taking a scenic route through waterside (Gallions Point Marina), taking in the sights of the London Excel Centre, Emirates Royal Dock Sky Lift and Thames Barrier.
The walk is a completely free event, open to all ages, hosted and organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association. All are welcome including dogs, if kept on the lead.
The Somerville Foundation is delighted that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association will 'match fund' our fundraising efforts, meaning that for every £1 raised, they will match it with £1. So if we raise £1,000 the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association will give us another £1,000 to match it!
The walk starts and finishes at 1000 Dockside, E16 2QU. Registration begins at 9:00am, the walk begins at 10:30am, and finishes at 12:30pm, followed by a free (!!!) hot lunch for all participants. Refreshments are available at every mile of the route, including fresh fruit and bottled water. The walk route will be fully signposted and marshalled for security, safety and guidance of all walkers.
There will be a shorter 3 mile route suitable for wheelchair users and families bringing pushchairs.
If you have always wanted to raise funds for us, but you couldn’t see yourself running a marathon or cycling to Timbuktu, then this could be the event for you.
To sign up for the walk and to receive your sponsorship forms, complete the below form or contact Anna or Helen at email@example.com
or call 01473 252007. The last date for registration is 5th May 2017, so sign up as soon as you can!
